In this lesson, Mr. Rob introduces the concept of musical skips. Like a musical step, this refers to a specific movement along the scale.
A musical skip happens when we move from one note to another two scale degrees up; for instance, from the E to the G. Skips take us from line to line, or space to space on the staff.
In this video, Mr. Rob challenges students to determine which note would be a musical skip up or down from another.
Eventually, learners practice skipping with chords! Mr. Rob reviews the difference between melodic and harmonic chords & challenges learns to identify chords written both melodically and harmonically.
