In this Snow Day themed rhythm episode, students learn about various rhythms!! All you need is a drum, your hands or a table to tap on to follow along.
In this lesson, students review:
-Quarter Notes, represented by "ice"
-Eighth Notes, represented by "snowman"
-Sixteenth Notes, represented by "winter wonder"
-Review call and response
This video reinforces call and response. Students will sing along with Mr. Rob during each chorus, but each verse is made up of different rhythms. Wait for Mr. Rob to call out each verse, then model for your learners how to jump in clapping, tapping and singing along!
At 3:35, Mr. Rob explains the rhythms, the space of each beat and how they all work together to make up the measure.
What's Next?
In the next lesson, we’ll play a holiday classic, Dreidel. Dreidel is another song that uses five notes and we’ll play it in a nice and slow call-and-response feature.
